USTA invites broadcast funding requests from tracks and horsemen

Columbus, OH — The United States Trotting Association invites member racetracks and horsemen’s organizations to apply for broadcast funding that will be made available in the Association’s 2024 budget. Funds are intended for the use of television, radio, or online production of harness racing events or special interest stories and broadcasts.

The line item amount will be determined at the USTA Board of Directors meeting in Columbus, Ohio, from March 8-10.

All requests must be submitted to the USTA no later than March 1, with allocations being decided at the aforementioned full board meeting. The USTA Marketing and Communications Committee will review all submissions and make a recommendation on each.

Applicants are asked to direct their requests to Dan Leary (dan.leary@ustrotting.com), USTA director of marketing and communications. Submissions must be submitted using the USTA Broadcast Funding Request Form. For a copy of the form, click here.

The form will request the following information.

3. Date(s) and times(s) when the show will air.
4. Anticipated reach of the show.
5. Description of use of funds.

For organizations that received funding in 2023, they must submit a summary of the analytics for their funded broadcasts last year to be eligible to receive funding in 2024. Last year, the USTA awarded $125,000 to industry organizations to assist with their broadcasts.
