Van Wert, OH — The Van Wert County Fair at Van Wert, Ohio, completed a two-day meet on Monday evening (Sept. 7) with a 13-race card.

A big congratulations to the speed committee of Mike Poling and Roger Wilkin for making the meet a success.

Western Fella (Artistic Fella-Western Kisser) turned in the fastest mile of the fair when he came home first in a conditioned pace in 1:59. Bill Webb owns the 4-year-old gelding with Mark Headworth doing the training and driving.

Bud High steered Count Full Mac (Full Count-Stormin Tilly) to the fastest trot of the meet when he toured the Van Wert oval in 2:03.1 in taking the first split of the Signature Series Trot. High also owns and trains the 4-year-old gelding.

Mark Headworth found the winner’s circle four times to lead all drivers while also training two of his victors to share the training top spot with Brian Jones, Herb LeVan, and Matt Rheinheimer.
