Harrington, DE – George and Tina Dennis Racing’s Wager On Me ($31.20, Mike Cole) was an upset 1:52.3 winner in the $22,500 Open Pace Monday (July 6) at Harrington Raceway.
Wager On Me, at 14-to-1, authored the opening quarter mile in :27.1 seconds as the field sped to the half-mile in :55.4 with the outer flow developing as Wehadababyetzaboy applied first-over pressure to three-quarters in 1:24.1. Wager On Me would not be denied in the stretch, fighting off a game Wehadababyetzaboy, who was second, for his 50th career win. Mr. Three O Five received a pocket trip and finished third. Trained by Joe Columbo, the 10-year-old Bettor’s Delight gelding recorded his 6th win of the year and boosted his lifetime earnings to nearly $636,000.
Art Stafford Jr. had three wins, while Allan Davis and Brandon Givens each had a driving double.
