Waitforever N looks to repeat in Filly & Mare Open at MGM Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Trainer Bill Rhoades, who earned his 1,000th career training win on Jan. 3, has had a run of success in the Open ranks at MGM Northfield Park. On Friday (Jan. 13), he will send out his most recent acquisition Waitforever N in the $18,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace.

The 6-year-old mare has won two straight from outside posts since shipping in from Yonkers on Dec. 30.

Watiforever N (American Ideal) launched her career in New Zealand before shipping to the United States. She won four of her 19 starts overseas before making her first start abroad in September.

Purchased in October by D Racing Stable Inc., Donald Mac Rae, and Kapildeo Singh, Watiforever N made her way through the non-winners conditioned classes at Yonkers Raceway before shipping to the Rhoades stable to take on the toughest in Northeast Ohio.

She will try her luck on Friday against a talented field, including Adorabella (Hunter Myers) who finished her 6-year-old season having made $153,725 with 12 victories in 34 starts; stablemate Diamondtequilashot (Billy Davis Jr.) who returned to the Open ranks last week and newcomer Rockin Requiem (Kurt Sugg) who will take her first crack against the top class.

Also competing on Friday is Kat (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.), Princess Rockette (Greg Grismore), Asante Sana A (Jason Thompson), and Heerz Hoosierhunny (Elliott Deaton).

Waitforever N, who leaves from post eight, has made $101,981 in her career, has won 12 of 32 starts, and took her lifetime mark of 1:52.4 over a sloppy track at Northfield Park on Jan. 7.

MGM Northfield Park will host a special Friday racing program on Jan. 13 with a first post of 6 p.m. There will be no live racing on Saturday this week. The racing schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday will return next week.

Also featured on the Friday program will be the $10,000 guaranteed 20-cent Super Hi-5 in race 13. The wager, offered through the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program, features a low 14 percent takeout.
