Walner yearlings top Sweden’s Elitlopp sale

Solvalla, SE — With a final bid of 2 million Swedish Krona – or $185,000 US dollars trainer Joakim Lövgren bought the Walner-colt, Upset Tile – that was a new record prize for the sale.

Upset Tile is out of Natalie de Vie 1:55f – she is by Muscle Hill.

The second highest price at the sale was paid for another Walner-colt, Leandro Wibb, who sold for 1.7 million SEK or $157,000 US.

The dam of Leandro Wibb is the Italian mare, Violet Effe 1:55.2 f – she by Ready Cash. Trainer Conrad Lugauer had the winning bid.

The third highest price at the sale was paid for a colt, Pac Man Newport sired by Greenshoe, who sold for 650.000 SEK – or $60,000 US to Sirpa Laihonen of Finland.

The Elitlopp-sale was postponed a week, after being hit by hackers, who made bidding very difficult.

The sale was to be a hybrid-sale with bidding in the ring and on the internet.

Yesterday the sale was an internet-sale only – and 37 of the 100 yearlings in the catalogue were scratched.

42 yearlings were sold at an average price of 296.786 SEK – $27,655 US.
