Indiana, PA – William “Dean” Brickell, 70, of Rochester Mills, died Monday (Aug. 19), at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.
He was born Feb. 4, 1954, in Punxsutawney, PA a son of the late Bertha L. (Haag) and Therman C. Brickell. On July 12, 1990, he married Susan J. Wolfe, who preceded him in death on May 20, 2018.
Dean was a graduate of Slippery Rock University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He was a teacher of remedial math and reading in the Punxsutawney School District for 30 years and retired in 2008. He enjoyed racing horses in the county fair and at the meadows.
Surviving relatives include his three siblings, Darlene Brown of Freedom, Doris Gotwald and husband Russ of Freedom, and David Brickell of Smicksburg; a sister-in-law, Becky Brickell of Rossiter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Therman Brickell; sister-in-law Ronna Brickell; and a brother-in-law, Lee Brown.
Per Dean’s wishes, no services will be held.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff of Crystal Waters for their care of Dean.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Rossiter.
