Columbus, OH — William “Bill” Stickle Height Sr., 88, of Howell, N.J., died Dec. 30, 2022, at the FountainView Care Center in Lakewood, N.J.
He was born on June 19, 1934, in Neptune, N.J.
Mr. Height spent his life at Freehold Raceway for the last 50 years as a driver, trainer and owner. He was still training up until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; siblings, Virginia Anderson and Betty Layton; children, Gregg, Glen, James, Kelly, William Jr. (Janey), Christopher (Gatian), and Michael (Nicole); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Height and Anna Harrison; brother, Frederick; and sister, Evelyn.
In lieu of flowers or donations, buy an expensive bottle of scotch and make a toast in his honor.
Arrangements for cremation will be made under the direction of the Lakewood Funeral Home. The cremation service and celebration of life will be kept private.
