Wallkill, NY — Winner’s Bet 2,1:54.1, 3,1:51, 4,1:49.3-‘24 ($1,307,221), the richest and fastest son of Walner, will stand at Blue Chip Farms, in Wallkill, N.Y., starting with the 2025 breeding season.
Owned by Lindy Farms and Robert Rudolph, and trained by Domenico Cecere and Nancy Takter throughout his career, Winner’s Bet is a multiple stakes winner at 2, 3 and 4.
At 2, he won the William Wellwood Memorial and Kindergarten Classic. At 3, he won the Stanley Dancer and Reynolds, and was the runner-up in the Canadian Trotting Classic. This year, at 4, he set multiple stakes and track records when winning the Graduate Series (final and two legs), Caesars Trotting Classic, Charlie Hill Memorial and the Breeders Crown Open Trot at The Meadowlands, setting the stakes record.
“From a young age, Winner’s Bet showed he had the potential to be a great racehorse,” said Domenico Cecere, who developed and trained and the son of Walner at 2 and 3. “From the first day I sat behind him, I knew he would be a fast and powerful horse by the feeling he gave me. His temperament and great mind make him the complete package, and when you train a great and powerful horse like him, you have the best seat you will ever have.”
Nancy Takter, who assumed the training duties of Winner’s Bet earlier this year to prepare for his 4-year-old season, said: “It’s been a pleasure to train him this year. Not only is he absolutely gorgeous, but also a true gentleman to deal with. He’s a very sound horse and great gaited. As the fastest and richest son of Walner, he should be very sought after as a stallion.”
Winner’s Bet showed his versatility and extreme speed in one of the season’s best performances when he captured the Charlie Hill Memorial Trot over Scioto Downs’ five-eighths-mile oval in a track record 1:50.4.
Driver Dexter Dunn said: “Winner’s Bet is a beautiful horse with a great gait and attitude. He was simply an awesome trotter to sit behind”.
Blue Chip Farms is looking forward to adding this trotting stallion to their roster and celebrating his influence on the New York program and beyond in the coming years.
