Milton, ON — Woodbine Mohawk Park was forced to cancel Saturday evening’s (July 18) live racing program due to poor air quality.
The cancellation is due to AGCO regulations that prevent live racing from proceeding when the local Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) is in the high-risk range (7 or higher).
The Ontario Sires Stakes Gold event for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings that was scheduled for Saturday will now take place on Sunday evening (July 19) as non-wagering races. The first division will be held at 5 p.m. then immediately followed by the second split. Both races will be contested as originally drawn.
Following the non-wagering OSS races, Sunday’s 12-race card is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
