Workin Ona Mystery grinds to seasonal best at Dayton

Dayton, OH – After dabbling in Grand Circuit stakes throughout the 2023 season, Workin Ona Mystery won for the seventh time this year in Thursday’s (Oct. 26) $25,000 Open Pace at Dayton Raceway.

Starting from post six, Workin Ona Mystery and driver Chris Page retreated off the car to sit fifth while Stars Align rocketed to the lead and set splits of :26, :54.3 and 1:22. Workin Ona Mystery began his first-over bid up the backstretch, continued to advance on the outside on the far turn, and eventually drew off to win by 1-1/4 lengths in a seasonal best 1:49.3 over Sectionline Bigry and Let It Ride N.

Workin Ona Mystery, a son of Captaintreacherous-Dragon’s Tale owned by Burke Racing Stable, Milton Leeman, Alan Keith and Wingfield Brothers LLC, now boasts over $1.2 million in career earnings. He paid $4.80 to win.
