Nichols, NY – World of Wishes (Braxten Boyd) captures the $14,000 featured Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (May 17).
Saulsbrook Victor (Brett MacDonald) came flying from post 6 to be first to the quarter in :26.3. He used a :27.3 second quarter to lead the field to the half in :54.1 before cruising to three-quarters in 1:21.1.
As they made the turn for home, World of Wishes ($9.18) scurried from the pocket and challenged for the lead. Second-place finisher Saulsbrook Victor battled gamely, but World of Wishes used one late surge to win in 1:49.2. Livonjaxandqueens (Greg Merton) finished third.

World of Wishes is a 4-year-old gelding by Bettor’s Wish. He is owned by Phil Steinberg and trained by Chris Ryder. It was his third win of the year, and his ninth career victory.
Boyd scored a driving hat trick while Mike Merton, Ridge Warren, and Joe Chindano Jr. turned in driving doubles. Mike Deters had a training double.
