The Raceway moves Thursday qualifiers to Friday evening
Horse people are advised that due to the upcoming weather forecast for overnight Wednesday into Thursday, The Raceway has switched this week’s qualifiers from Thursday morning to Friday evening, immediately following the live race program.
Dunning wins four at Rosecroft; Rock Smart upsets
Trainer Bryson Dunning stole the show Monday (Feb. 10) at Rosecroft Raceway, harnessing four winners on the 14-race program.
Winnerup to stand at Bluff Country Equine
Winnerup (Credit Winner x Up Front Hotsey x Sj’s Caviar) will stand his inaugural season in Minnesota in 2025. The 9 year old trotter tied the all-age track record in 2023 at Running Aces Racetrack, but has found immense success across the country on tracks of all sizes. He’s banked $515,287 and boasts a mark of 1:52.1 with a beaten time of 1:51.1.
Celia Bayama strikes again at Batavia Downs
Although she moved up in class, out in post and completely reversed racing strategies, Celia Bayama claimed her second straight win in the $9,500 fillies and mares pacing feature at Batavia Downs on Monday (Feb. 10) afternoon.
Very busy Monday as Pocono prepares to open for 2025
The trotters and pacers took their first 2025 spins around the 5/8-mile oval at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on Monday (Feb. 10) morning. The conditions were not prime (mid- to high-20s, and a “good” track rated at “+1” and later “+2”), but several horses showed they are ready to get the season underway, with the first card Saturday (Feb. 15) at 1 p.m.
