Columbus, MN — Minnesota-sired freshman action was featured on the Tuesday night (Aug. 13) program at Running Aces with three divisions of rookie pacers and two divisions of rookie trotters.

Peanutbutterfalcon (Quality Kemp) and driver Jeff Hunt took off from the word “go” and quickly established command in the $17,500 male trot, posting a sharp opening quarter in :29.1 while on top by four lengths early. Werewolfofwysteria (Brandon Jenson) traveled in the pocket while Tutti Frutti Rudi (Tony Huffman) got caught outside from third through the moderate middle fractions of :59.1 and 1:30.2.
Peanutbutterfalcon ($2.20) remained strong on the front and was never in doubt in the lane and coasted home a 2-1/2 length winner for his third straight victory, stopping the timer in a career best 2:01.1 while CD I’m The Winner (Chad Svendsen) rallied late to pick up second money over Werewolfofwysteria.
The winner is owned by his breeder Jeralene Roland and is trained by Dan Roland.
Linked To Chaos (Easy Again) achieved a career best win of her own in the $17,000 filly pace, posting an impressive late rally between horses to sweep by her rivals for a 1-1/2 length score in 1:58.3 over stablemate and heavy favorite Delco Kathleen (Todd Warren) with Charming Katie (Chad Svendsen) checking home third.
Linked To Chaos ($5.00) was piloted by Mooney Svendsen for owner/breeder Jay De Long and trainer Justin Anfinson.
Tutto Bene (Warren, $2.80) and The Minnesota Kid (Luke Plano, $2.40) could not be separated on the line in the $17,000 freshman male pace, posting a thrilling stretch battle and stopping the timer together in 1:57.1 which was a new career mark for both sons of Karpathian Kid. It was also two wins in a row for Tutto Bene.
Tutto Bene is owned by Ron Rettig-Zucchi and is trained by Lino Pacheco. The Minnesota Kid is owned by Stephanie Longo and is trained by Jose “Chicky” Castillo.
SHS Miss My Mama (Plano, $3.60) posted her second straight win in the $17,500 filly trot with a 2-3/4 length victory over SHS Southern Pride in a new lifetime mark of 2:02.4. The winner is a daughter of Southwind Flash and is owned by Larry Jenson and trained by Brady Jenson.
High Country Baby (Williams Hernandez, $5.40) posted the biggest winning margin of the night (6-1/2 lengths) in the $8,500 freshman ‘B’ pace for his first lifetime win in 1:57.4 with DM Magic Player second and Yellowstone Kid third. The winner is a son of Three Of Clubs and is owned by KT Racing and Maria Alvarez and is also trained by Hernandez.
Speaking Volumes and driver Mooney Svendsen could not be silenced in the $15,500 Open Handicap pace, going straight to the front from post three and then working out a perfect pocket-trip before exploding up the inside late to capture a third straight victory. Speaking Volumes ($5.20) checked home a three-quarter length winner over stablemate No Lou Zing with Mac’s Marvel home third in the 1:51.3 mile. The winner is owned by Little Bapa and Bob Johnson is the trainer of the top two finishers.
Drivers Luke Plano, Mooney Svendsen and Elson Miller led the Tuesday program with doubles, while Miller also posted a training double.
Live racing returns to Running Aces on Thursday night (Aug. 15) for a 12-race program that will feature a carryover of $27,545.97 in the 20-cent Pick-5 Jackpot wager which will start in race eight. Post time on Thursday is 6 p.m. (CDT).
