Yonkers, NY – Alan Schwartz and his 6-year-old Wishing Stone gelding Doo Wop Kid clinched another North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) series win on Thursday night (Nov. 20) with a stout rally to land the spoils in the $20,000 Fall Trotting Series final at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

Leaving from post three, Doo Wop Kid settled into the middle of the pack as a three-wide battle ensued on the lead. The Last Chapter (driven by Andrew Adamczyk) pushed three wide and swooped to the top after a :28.3 first quarter, pocketing Roger Rabbit (Joe Lee) while leaving Ima Standup Guy (Joe Faraldo) stuck first-over. Faraldo pressed forward and shadowed The Last Chapter through a :58.4 half but stalled as the field moved for the backstretch, at which point Voss Blue Chip (Tony Beltrami) – positioned second-over – tipped three wide to advance. Schwartz followed suit and sent Doo Wop Kid to follow Beltrami’s helmet.
The Last Chapter cruised on the front to clock three-quarters in 1:28 while Ima Standup Guy retreated into the final turn. Voss Blue Chip brushed forward from his three-wide move and drew alongside The Last Chapter as Doo Wop Kid continued to gain deeper on the track coming for home. Doo Wop Kid persisted down the center of the track through the stretch to land the winning blow on the finish by a nose in a 1:58.3 mile. The Last Chapter settled for third, beaten two lengths, with Psalmsfortysixfive (Scott Keppler) rallying for fourth.
Schwartz, who owns and trains Doo Wop Kid, landed back-to-back NAADA series wins with his performance Thursday night. Sent off as the 8-5 favorite, he paid $5.22 to win.
