Devon, PA – This year, three Standardbreds will proudly represent the breed at the historic Devon Horse Show, which officially begins Wednesday, May 20, continuing a tradition that has made it one of the most prestigious and celebrated equestrian events in the country.

Founded in 1896, the Devon Horse Show has become synonymous with excellence, attracting top horses, riders, drivers, and spectators from across the United States. The event showcases a wide variety of equestrian disciplines while honoring the rich traditions of the horse world.
All three horses will show on Tuesday, May 26 in both the Single Horse Pleasure Driving class, as well as the exciting Single Horse Scurry (a timed obstacle course). These talented horses will have the opportunity to showcase the versatility, athleticism, and heart that Standardbreds are known for beyond the racetrack:

The presence of Standardbreds at an event as prestigious as the Devon Horse Show highlights the growing recognition of the breed in competitive driving disciplines. Through opportunities like these, Standardbreds are proving they can excel in successful second careers while continuing to represent the breed at the highest levels of the horse industry.
The Devon Horse Show remains one of the most respected stages in the equestrian world, making the participation of these Standardbreds a proud and meaningful moment for the breed and its supporters.
The U.S. Trotting Association has renewed its partnership with the American Driving Society (ADS) promoting the carriage driving discipline and events as great second career opportunities for Standardbreds. ADS, in return, will promote the use of Standardbreds within their membership. This partnership is just one of the many ways the USTA supports the breed and life after racing initiatives.
Since 1996, the Standardbred Equine Program has worked with owners of off-the-track Standardbreds to educate the general public about the many disciplines Standardbreds excel at once they are retired from racing. For more information about the SEP at the USTA, visit LifeAfterRacing.ustrotting.com.
