Freehold, NJ — John and Susan Marshall’s Genena’s Jesse will open on the board as the lukewarm 3-1 favorite in the featured $5,200 conditioned trot at Freehold Raceway on Thursday.
Genena’s Jesse has been very sharp since getting trotting hobbles two starts back. In that time, the three-year-old gelded son of SJ’s Photo has beaten $3,900 competition on October 26 and $4,000 trotters on November 4, and only minor improvement may be needed for him to handle Thursday’s hike in company.
Genena’s Jesse has drawn post seven. Co-owner John Marshall, who doubles as trainer, has named Jim Morrill, Jr. to drive.
One that must be given serious consideration is Neshe. The four-year-old Malabar Man mare comes into Thursday’s main event fresh off an easy win over $3,900 conditioned trotters at Freehold on November 2.
Jeff Gregory will drive Neshe for trainer Paul Wojtowicz. The duo will leave the gate from post eight as the 7-2 second choice in the early line.
Steven R, Boston Bambino, Meadago Lavec, Saucy Score, Silver Valley and American Stark round out the field.
Freehold’s 13 race Thursday card will commence with a first post of 12:30 p.m.
