Anderson, IN — Aces And Cinches, driven by Kyle Wilfong for trainer Ron Burke, won a nail bitter down the stretch to secure the $94,000 fifth leg of Indiana Sire Stakes action for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers Friday (July 17) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
Looking to go back-to-back in INSS competition, Aces And Cinches cruised out from post five settling into his spot along the rail in fourth. Meanwhile, Swiss Lights (Trace Tetrick) fended off Dancingdreamer (Marcus Miller) for an early lead at the turn in :26. On the backstretch, the six-horse field remained unchanged with Dancingdreamer, Door Dash (Kevin Lambright) and Aces And Cinches following the leader as Swiss Light blazed past the halfway mark in a :53.3 clocking.
Aces And Cinches led the charge along the exterior, moving off the pylons to begin his first-over charge racing into the final turn. Swiss Lights continued his onslaught, pacing to three-quarters in 1:21.2. In the stretch, Swiss Lights stayed strong as Aces And Cinches advanced on the outside and Dancingdreamer desperately seeking racing room on the inside. Favored Aces and Cinches remained persistent and surged to the lead late in the stretch to win by half a length in 1:48.2. Swiss Lights settled for second, while Door Dash charged late for third.

Aces And Cinches stayed hot, picking up his second INSS contest of the season and boosting his lifetime earnings to $140,400. Bred by Alpine Stables, the Odds On Equuleus – Gypsy Bellevue colt is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Frank Baldachino, and Michael Rosenthal. The winner paid $3.20 in victory.
