Another big win for Missle Hill

The 5-year-old Missle Hill has developed into a top trotter this year in Sweden and won another big stakes race Sunday afternoon (Sept. 28) at Solvalla, in the STL Open,  a Group 1 race with a purse for the winner of $82,500.

Per Lennartsson was in the bike behind Missle Hill and found racing room in the middle of the stretch. Missle Hill, trained by Daniel Redén, just managed to catch leading stablemate Double Exposure, with Johan Untersteiner, to win the 1-5/16th mile event in 1:54f (mile rate).

The purse brought Missle Hill’s lifetime earnings to $530,000.

In August, Missle Hill won the prestigious Jubilee Prize at Solvalla with a purse for the winner of $115,000.

In Italy, the Gran Premio Continentale for 4-year-old trotters was won by Alrajah One (sired by Maharajah), with trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro in the bike. The purse for the winner was $88,000.

In France, one of the biggest under-saddle races, Prix des Elites, over 2,200 meters (1-3/8th miles), ended in a close race between two offspring to Ready Cash. The favorite Feeling Cash just managed to hold off a late charge from the mare Flamme du Goutier. Both were timed in 1:53.3 (mile rate). The purse for the winner was $90,000.
