Harness Racing in Goshen – Labor Day Weekend
The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in Goshen, will be open during the races at Goshen Historic Track on Sunday (Sept. 6), and also on Labor Day, Monday (Sept. 7). Museum hours on Sunday will be 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Labor Day hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Museum admission will be free on both days.
Captain Kenny J Upsets in Kentucky Championship Series
Todd McCarthy zipped Captain Kenny J through an inside seam off a pocket ride to land the winning blow on tempo-setter Command Center and pull a 14-1 upset in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series fourth preliminary for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Wednesday (Sept. 2) at The Red Mile.
2YOs race Sunday at Wattsburg (PA); Monday 3YOs rained out
Once again the fair horseperson’s worst enemy – rain – hit the Pennsylvania Fair Circuit, this time in Wattsburg PA at the Erie County Fair in the northwest corner of the state, where the Sunday (Aug. 30) card for 2-year-olds was raced, but then the Monday (Aug. 31) program for e-year-olds was washed out.
T Dog Upsets In Monday Harrington Feature
Michael and Sara Kimelman’s T Dog ($12.40, Jason Thompson) was an upset winner in the $22,500 Open Pace Monday (Aug. 31) at Harrington Raceway.
Six for George Napolitano Jr., at Pocono
George Napolitano Jr., the alltime winningest driver at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, won six races over an off track Monday (Aug. 31) afternoon, including both $27,500 feature races with the front end of a stable 1-2 sweep in the headliners.
Make it two straight for Courageous Warrior at Plainridge Park
After taking a lifetime mark of 1:50.1 last week in the elimination of The Patriot mini-series, Courageous Warrior came right back to claim the $25,000 final, which was the featured race at Plainridge Park on Monday (Aug. 31) afternoon.
Meadows Monday Memo
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will race Wednesday (Sept. 2) and Thursday (Sept. 3) this week at 12:45pm, Friday evening at 5:10pm, and Saturday at 12:45pm. This will be the final 4-day race week of the summer, as this is the final Saturday of racing until late November. Next week, the track will shift to its Fall schedule, with racing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Sept. 4) afternoons at 12:45 p.m.
