Worlds collide in $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot
The eyes of the Standardbred world will be firmly entranced on Yonkers Raceway on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 9) when 10 older trotters from all ends of the globe convene for the $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot. The invitation-only event is the featured attraction on an 11-race card which offers $3.3 million in purses and also includes the New York Sire Stakes championships for 2- and 3-year-olds.
Draws held for MGM Yonkers International Trot program
France’s Etonnant drew post position two and has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite for Saturday’s (Sept. 9) $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot at MGM Yonkers Raceway. Saturday’s card also includes two $250,000 Invitationals for older horses, the Robert Miecuna Trot and the Aria Pace, and eight $225,000 New York Sire Stakes finals for 2- and 3-year-olds of both sexes and gaits.
Teague trio triples Tuesday at Harrington
A trio of Lather Up-sired 2-year-old pacing fillies trained by Clyde Francis and owned by George Teague Jr. were victorious on the Tuesday (Sept. 5) program at Harrington Raceway.
Dancin Champion, Allegiant soar to Red Mile winner’s circle
Dancin Champion (David Miller) took full advantage of a miscue by leader Ivy Park in mid-stretch to spring a mild 7-1 upset in the $80,000 fourth-round leg of the Kentucky Championship Series for 2-year-old male pacers on Tuesday (Sept. 5) at the Red Mile. Allegiant (Scott Zeron) collected her second consecutive victory in the division for freshman filly trotters.

Horsepeople qualifying on Wednesday (Sept. 6) at Harrington Raceway are advised that qualifiers will begin at 10 a.m.
Records fall in Philly PASS finals
After reeling off wins in the Milstein Memorial and the last Pennsylvania Sire Stakes preliminary, Seven Colors delivered a powerful punch in Sunday’s (Sept. 3) $252,000 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes championship for 3-year-old male pacers at Harrah’s Philadelphia, defeating Pepsi North America Cup winner It’s My Show in 1:48.1 and tying his own track record, which he shares with A Rocknroll Dance. Pacing filly Odds On Hail Mary and trotting colt French Wine also rolled into the record books in their respective $252,000 PASS finals.
American-bred Crepe Match wins Finnish Trotting Derby
The 2023 Finnish Trotting Derby, at the Vermo track, was won by Crepe Match with trainer/driver Olli Koivunen.

Big M lover ‘Ucandoit’ does it again in Classic elim
There’s no question that Ucandoit Blue Chip loves racing at the Meadowlands. The Linda Toscano trainee is seven-for-12 lifetime at The Big M and is a two-time New Jersey Sire Stakes champion at the mile oval. The daughter of Keystone Velocity-Molly Can Do It will look to add a New Jersey Classic trophy over her fireplace in the $150,000 (est.) final next week, and appears ready to do just that after taking the lone NJC elimination for 3-year-old filly pacers Saturday night (Sept. 2).
