Discus Hanover (John MacDonald) hung on to capture the featured $7,500 trot by a nose at Vernon Downs on Saturday (April 15).

James Slendorn hit the accelerator and Jim King Solomon swooped the field to take their respective $9,000 American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) Trots at Freehold Raceway on Saturday afternoon (April 15).

Lying In Cash and driver Jason Merriman captured Saturday night’s (April 15) featured $10,800 Open 1 Handicap Pace at Northville Downs in 1:54.2.

Rebellious ($2.70) responded perfectly to driver Jim Morrill Jr.’s commands on his way to a 1:55.3 victory in the $15,500 Open Pace at Buffalo Raceway on Saturday night (April 15).

Panettone Hanover became the only two-time winner in the Bobby Weiss Series for 3-year-old pacing colts Saturday afternoon (April 15) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, winning one of five $20,000 second-round divisions in 1:52.2.

The $12,500 Kirk Breed Filly and Mare Free-for-All Pace, headed by Wonder Of Love, and a $15,000 California Sire Stakes for 3-year-old pacing fillies, featuring Gotubydashorthairs, command the spotlight Sunday evening (April 16) at Cal Expo on a special memorial program.

The stars of the 2022 stakes season have begun to emerge from their winter hibernation and appear at the Meadowlands qualifiers. Trainer Jim Campbell relived the best day of his life by shipping his Hambletonian and Hambo Oaks winners from last year in for their first charted miles as 4-year-olds, and they both won their respective qualifiers on Saturday morning (April 15).

Driver Dan Deslandes and his father, trainer Jeff Deslandes, took First Tracks Cumberland by storm and won four of the nine races on Friday’s (April 14) opening day program.
