Griff looks to click in Mohawk Million
Jeff Thomson’s 2-year-old grandson Griffin is too young to understand racing but old enough to know his name. So, when Griffin was shown a replay of 2-year-old male trotter Griff winning a race earlier this season, he was enthralled. The next cool moment for Griffin, Griff, and the horse’s connections arrives Saturday. Griff, bred by Thomson and his wife, Lori, will compete in the Mohawk Million for 2-year-old trotters at Woodbine Mohawk Park after receiving a spot in the buy-in race courtesy of Anders Strom’s Courant Inc.

Sitting sixth with a quarter-mile to go, It’s My Show and driver Scott Zeron worked a third-over journey into a trip to the winner’s circle by rallying past Seven Colors in the stretch to win Thursday’s $850,000 Jug final for 3-year-old pacers in 1:49 before a crowd of more than 40,000 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in central Ohio.
M-M’s Dream rolls to Miss Versatility triumph
M-M’s Dream raced first-over for more than half the mile, then overcame leader Raised By Lindy coming off the last turn to win Thursday’s $90,000 Miss Versatility final for older female trotters in 1:52.4 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in central Ohio.
