Columbus, OH — Meadowlands executive and USTA director Jason Settlemoir on Thursday (April 23) offered the following update on his Facebook page about driver Brett Beckwith:

Brett’s mother Melissa has given me the following update on Brett and it sounds like steady progress for the Meadowlands Racetrack leading reinsman;
Brett has been better the last two days in regard to pain which is a good sign. Brett hasn’t needed any pain medication during the day! Brett has been taking a walk every day and even took a car ride with Melissa to the track on Tuesday to watch two of their horses race. Brett and his mother stayed in the car. Melissa just wanted to get him out of the house a bit. Brett is obviously still very sore and Melissa said he’s hungry and there’s not much you can have through a straw! Lots of milkshakes, protein shakes and some smoothies. They have a countdown in their home for the jaw. Eight more days of no Brett talking. Lol.
Melissa has been doing better since Brett’s doing better. Please continue to pray for a full and speedy recovery for Brett.
