Miller entered the card needing two wins to reach the 10,000th win plateau. He picked up his first win of the night in the second race and hit the milestone in the eighth race when he drove Flyin Bullets to victory in Ohio Sires Stakes action.

In the second of two $55,000 divisions for 2-year-old filly pacers, Flyin Bullets with Miller grabbed the lead at the quarter pole and shook off a challenge from Bad Girls Racing up the backstretch to win by 1-1/2 lengths in a new lifetime mark of 1:53.2. John’s Shadow finished second with Fearless Ginger third.

Owned by Umholtz & Kennedy Racing and trained by Clair Umholtz, Flyin Bullets has hit the board in all six starts, winning three. The daughter of Downbytheseaside-Pistol Packin Mama raised her earnings to $93,600 with the win.

Brett’s career began in 1991 with a single drive. He recorded just one win in 1992 and four in 1993 before his career shifted into high gear.

Since 2000, Miller has won more than 200 races each year with his highest win total being 639 in 2004. He has earned more than $1 million in purses each of those years, including 11 years with more than $5 million.

The affable Miller has driven some of the best horses in the sport over the past two decades for some of the sport’s top trainers. He spent over a decade on the east coast before returning to his roots in Ohio in 2018.

In the first division of freshman filly pacers, heavy favorite Rose Run Zoey with Tyler Smith made their move heading to the three-quarter pole and blew by the leaders to take command. Rose Run Zoey drew away to win by six lengths in a new lifetime mark of 1:51.2. Trained by Ryan Miller and owned by Miller Racing Stable and Let It Ride Stables, the daughter of Lather Up has hit the board in all six starts, winning two. Rose Run Zoey has earned $94,700 this year. Daisy’s Star was second with Beautiful Lather finishing third.

The fifth leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes wraps up Saturday (Aug. 27) at Eldorado Scioto Downs with four divisions taking to the track. Two-year-old colt pacers and trotters, 3-year-old colt pacers, and 3-year-old filly pacers will be in action.
