Columbus, MN – Cash Money Twenty brought his A-game to work with him on Tuesday night (June 2) at Running Aces, posting an impressive gate-to-wire tally in the $15,000 Open Handicap pace in 1:51.2 for his second straight win and his 22nd career score.

Sent off as the heavy 1-5 favorite from post six, the talented 4-year-old son of Stevensville was put into immediate action by driver Casey Leonard to surge to the front and establish command and was well settled on the lead at the :27.3 quarter while Alta Revelry N and Brady Jenson, who had left alertly from post three had no choice but to yield for the pocket trip.
JK Victory (Dean Magee) also showed some early speed and he dropped in third and the entire field played follow the leader as Cash Money Twenty stole a :29.1 second quarter breather.
Kurt Longjohn, who floated away in sixth position early, moved to the outside near the half mile and advanced forward down the backside but failed to make much of an impression on the leaders as Cash Money Twenty turned up the speed and kept his rivals in chase mode as they registered three panels in 1:24.3.
Cash Money Twenty ($2.60) kept pacing strongly through the lane and powered home in :26.4 to seal the deal, checking home a two-length winner over Alta Revelry N with JK Victory holding third.
The winner is owned by Heart & Soul Racing and trained by Brett Ballinger. It was a double on the program for those connections as they also visited the winner’s circle with War Machine (Lemoyne Svendsen, $2.40) who delivered as the favorite in a $7,200 conditioned pace in 1:52.2.
Casey Leonard drove two winners on the card while Brady Jenson also posted a training double.
Live racing returns to Running Aces on Thursday night (June 4) for a 10-race program that will feature a carryover of $9,139.95 in the 20-cent Pick-5 Jackpot wager, which will get underway in race six. First post is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
