The New York Sire Stakes announces the streamlining of the Excelsior Series for the upcoming racing season. The decision eliminates the Excelsior B Series, allowing for one program going forward.

Diane S. Frazier, 87, of Kennebunk, Maine, died Feb. 3, 2023, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

John Edmunds, 93, well known in harness racing and loved by many, died Feb. 1, 2023, in Vero Beach, Fla., surrounded by life-long friends.

The Dan Patch Awards Dinner is rapidly approaching, and, along with it, the annual silent auction that is held in conjunction with the evening’s festivities. The Harness Horse Youth Foundation and U.S. Harness Writers Association industry outreach programs will benefit from the proceeds.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame’s deadline to receive bids for the 2023 stallion auction is near. Bids must be called in, emailed or postmarked by Saturday (Feb. 11).
