Hezaumpn Bluegrass (aka Bubba) was euthanized on Nov. 21, 2024 at the age of 28.

Mares bred in 2024 must be registered with the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association (OHHA) to be eligible for Ohio Breeder’s Awards. Completed forms must be postmarked by Nov. 30.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2024 Caretaker of the Year. The award, sponsored by Art Zubrod and Leah Cheverie’s Fair Island Farm in conjunction with the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), recognizes the unsung heroes of the sport: the caretakers who maintain the health and welfare of the horses on a daily basis.

The Delaware Valley Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association is currently accepting nominations for its fifth annual Caretaker of the Year Award.

All stallions standing in Maryland for the 2025 breeding season must be registered with the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund by Dec. 1, 2024 for their foals to be eligible to the Maryland Sire Stakes.

This is a reminder that all Maryland Sire Stake stallion registration forms for the 2025 breeding season are due on December 1.

Renowned third generation Standardbred breeder and farm owner Steve Jones will be the recipient of the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) Monticello-Goshen Chapter’s John Manzi Leadership Award at their annual awards banquet on Sunday, Dec. 8 in Campbell Hall, NY.

The American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) presented another donation to charity this season – this time to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital – following the club’s races at Harrah’s Philadelphia last Sunday (Nov. 17).

Winterwood Farm, located in Bellville, OH announced their 2025 stallion fees and their upcoming open house on Dec. 16 for all Ohio breeders.

The deadline to renew or register Ohio Standardbred stallions for the 2025 Ohio breeding season is Nov. 30, 2024.
