The Attica Fair in Attica, Ohio, fought off rains for two days (Wednesday, Aug. 10 and Thursday, Aug. 11) to complete its racing program. They actually lost out to the rains on the last two races on Thursday. Those races, both overnights, had to be cancelled.

Roger Hammer pupils set pair of track records at Honesdale
The “King of the Pennsylvania Fairs,” Roger Hammer, rewrote both track records for 2-year-old colts on Thursday (Aug. 11) at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in this northeast Pennsylvania town, bringing the number of local standards set during the two-day fair meet to four, and six overall including the two-day Sire Stakes meet held here on Sunday and Monday.

Artists Ruffles, Camera Lady lead Honesdale Fair winners
Artists Ruffles, the 2-year-old altered son of Real Artist who equaled the fastest mile ever paced by a 2-year-old at a Pennsylvania fair when he won in 1:57 at Bedford at the end of July, was again the Star of the Day as the freshmen were featured on the second day (Monday, Aug. 8) of the two-day special Sire Stakes meet at the Wayne County Fairgrounds oval in this northeast Pennsylvania city.

On Thursday (Aug. 4) multiple new track standards were established at the Chip Noble Memorial Racetrack at the Greene County Fair.
King Mufasa to retire Sunday at Brown County Fair
King Mufasa, the 2013 Illinois Harness Horse of the Year, will be at the Brown County Fair in Mt. Sterling, Ill., on Sunday (Aug. 7) for his retirement ceremony.
Freshman colt pace record broken at Bowling Green
The harness racing program at the 2016 Wood County Fair at Bowling Green, Ohio, which took place on Monday (Aug. 1) and Tuesday (Aug. 2) was highlighted by the demolishing of the track record for 2-year-old colt pacers.
Wayne County (PA) Fair reminder to horsemen
Horsemen are reminded that along with being a regular stop on the Pennsylvania Fair Circuit offering the standard Pa Fair Sire Stakes and Quaker State early closer events for 2- and 3-year-olds, the historic Honesdale oval will also host free for all pace and free for all trot overnight events.
FFA Trot at Chillicothe carried over to Sunday
The Free For All Trot at the Ross Co. (Chillicothe, Ohio) Fair did not fill and has been carried over to Sunday.
