2022 New York County Fair racing schedule announced
The Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund has released the 2022 racing schedule for the New York Sire Stakes County Fair Series.

The Darke County Harness Horsemen’s Association held their annual banquet March 12. It was a great success after being canceled the past two years due to the pandemic. We’d like to thank everyone who helped plan and organize and a special thank you to all our sponsors.
Fair season? Awesome for Schadels
Todd Schadel has enjoyed a good deal of success at the Pennsylvania fairs, particularly in recent years, and the 2021 campaign managed to surpass them all. Schadel was the leading trainer and driver at the fairs for the fourth consecutive year and set a career high with 88 training victories on the circuit. He won 69 times as a driver, falling short of his all-time best of 76, but saw his son Cody visit the winner’s circle 23 times in his first full season in the sulky. Cody ranked ninth in the driver standings.
Pennsylvania Fair banquet in Bedford; Keystone USHWA participates
The Omni Bedford Springs Resort in this southwestern Pennsylvania city hosted the annual Pennsylvania Fair Awards banquet on Saturday (Jan. 22). This year the members of the Keystone Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association also gave their annual awards at this yearly dinner for the first time.
Ohio County Fair racing closes with Fairfield County Fair
The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association will conclude its coverage of the 2021 Ohio County Fair racing season with two days of live streaming coverage from the Fairfield County Fair in Lancaster, Ohio, Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 13-14).
Tyler Smith wins two Ohio Fair Championships
Tyler Smith recorded two wins, while seven drivers and eight trainers collected wins in the Ohio Fair Championships at Hollywood Dayton Raceway Saturday (Oct. 9). Each race carried a purse of $40,000.
