SIP trots to world record 1:51.2 in Old Oaken Bucket
The record for the fastest mile by a 3-year-old trotter lasted less than 24 hours. SIP blazed around the half-mile oval at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in 1:51.2 on Thursday (Sept. 22) to win the $88,600 Old Oaken Bucket for sophomore male trotters by 10 lengths over Famous Father in a four-horse field. Fiftyfour K was third.
Atlanta wires the field in Miss Versatility final
Atlanta went to the front and never looked back as she kicked off her farewell tour by winning Thursday’s $115,500 Miss Versatility Series championship for older female trotters by 1-1/4 lengths over When Dovescry in 1:53.2 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. Refined finished third.
