Elimination weekend at Woodbine Mohawk Park kicked off Friday (June 7) with splits for the Goodtimes and Roses Are Red.

Funtime Bayama and Nijinsky posted strong performances to win Saturday’s (June 1) Somebeachsomewhere Stakes divisions at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Hellabalou turned in a brilliant wire-to-wire victory in Friday night’s C$150,000 Camluck Classic Invitational Pace, presented by Seelster Farms, giving trainer Ron Burke a record fifth win in London’s signature race. His previous wins had some with Won The West, Foiled Again (twice) and Rockin Ron. It was the third victory in the event for driver Louis Phillippe Roy.

After winning the inaugural Joseph Auger Memorial Invitational for older male pacers last year with a world-record 1:46.3 effort, Ruthless Hanover returned to Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday to capture the event again, this time with a 1:47.2 score as he held off Ken Hanover by a half-length. Two races earlier, 4-year-old female pacer Twin B Joe Fresh put in a dominant performance to win the $100,000 Betsy Ross Invitational by nearly seven lengths in a stakes- and track-record 1:48.2.

Scott Zeron kept Venerate reserved off a blistering pace, went wide in the lane and trotted the fastest mile in the history of Harrah’s Philadelphia, 1:50.1, in winning the $100,000 Maxie Lee Memorial Invitational Trot Sunday afternoon.

After missing a week due to illness, Howlenthehills bounced back and picked up right where he left off by continuing his win streak with a lifetime-best 1:51.1 score in the $100,000 Paul Revere Pace, for 3-year-olds, at Plainridge Park on Thursday afternoon (May 2).
