An off-the-pace effort from Max Contract and a down-the-road mission by Kobe’s Gigi planted them in the winner’s circle of their respective $25,000 eliminations for the Breeders Crown Mare Pace on Saturday night (Oct. 21) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.

Trainer Ake Svantedt had trainees competing in 11 John Simpson Sr. Memorial stakes races this past week at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. Those Svanstedt trainees won every one of those races, with two more coming home victorious on Saturday (Oct. 20) afternoon to complete an incredible sweep.

In the first of three $25,000 Breeders Crown for freshman pacing colts, Better Is Nice flew five wide from behind in the stretch to catch fading favorite Newsroom and brush off a late close by Gem Quality to win by a neck in 1:50.3 on Friday (Oct. 20) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.

In the second $25,000 elimination for freshman pacing females, 1-5 favorite Geocentric with Tim Tetrick aboard nailed down her ninth consecutive win on Friday (Oct. 20) for trainer Brian Brown in 1:51 for owners Leeman, Keith, Stambaugh and Sbrocco at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.  Geocentric pushed her career earnings to $549,251 with the win.

The betting dollars did not disappoint on its targets in the Circle City divisions for sophomore pacers on Thursday night (Oct. 19) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park with three of the four winners receiving top dollar and finding the winner’s circle.

Karl and Yannick Gingras regained winning form in a powerhouse performance, capturing the first of two $25,000 Breeders Crown elimination for juvenile trotting colts and geldings, on Thursday night (Oct. 19) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, in 1:54 over a track labeled sloppy.

Sophomore trotters were featured in $30,000 Circle City events over a sloppy track Thursday (Oct. 19) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, with Tactical Mounds and Scott Zeron taking the spotlight with a 1:53.3 score in the second of two divisions for fillies.

Warrawee Michelle took top honors across three $25,000 Breeders Crown eliminations for 2-year-old trotting fillies, held Thursday (Oct. 19) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, with a 1:53.4 win in the third split. Buy A Round and Drawn Impression captured the other eliminations over a sloppy racing surface.

Wilkes-Barre, PA – Trainer Ake Svanstedt ran his winning streak to nine on Wednesday (Oct. 18) in John Simpson Sr. Memorial races this week at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania by winning three out of three races in which his trainees were entered for the third straight day. There were three Simpson divisions held on Wednesday for both the two-year-old trotting fillies (The Davidia Hanover at $42,970 per split) and the two-year-old pacing fillies (The Razzle Hanover at $35,000 per pop).

Trainer-driver Åke Svanstedt put on another command performance in the John Simpson Sr. Memorial Stakes on Tuesday (Oct. 17) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. A day after winning with all three of his Simpson starters, Svanstedt swept all three $43,100 Super Bowl divisions, for 2-year old trotting colts and geldings.
