Charlie May sets national season’s mark in Ohio Sires Stakes

Northfield, OH – Charlie May, the 3-2 favorite, set a national season’s mark in the second of three $40,000 Ohio Sires Stakes for 2-year-old pacing colts on a balmy Saturday night (July 25) at Northfield Park.

The youngster was clocked in 1:53 for driver Dan Noble and trainer Steve Carter.  Owned by breeder Don Tiger, the son of McArdle-Stippie Hanover has amassed $115,000 in his brief career and now has three wins in three starts. Hardt At Work was second at 4-5 odds for trainer-driver Mike Micallef with 12-1 Jackie Moon finishing third for driver Chris Page.

Charlie May, a chocolate brown colt, won OSS Leg One in 1:54.2 for these same connections with a similar, front-stepping effort.
