Chinese Auction surpasses all records

by Janet Campbell

Meadow Lands, PA — The 19th annual Meadows 2:00 Club Chinese Auction is now in the books and surpassed all previous records. Your generous support meant so much to the success of this year’s auction. Thank you for the record number of donations and for buying so many tickets!

A special thank you to all the “behind the scenes” volunteers: to Jim Schaming for arranging the entertainer for the evening. He added so much to our party; to John Marshall for his generosity; to Ray Romanetti who tirelessly stopped every day to collect the donated prizes and to Lori Romanetti who gave up her dining room (at Christmas time) to store the prizes until the auction; to all the people who sat and sold tickets all night; to Pastor Joe and Jim Celedonia for an outstanding job pulling and announcing the winners; and to Patty Daumit, Carol Patterson and Danielle Romanetti for getting the records straight. We could not have done it without all of you.

The proceeds were a record setting $12,144 with over 100 donated items to auction off. The proceeds will be split among the following charities:

  • Meadow’s Chaplaincy Program
  • Canonsburg/Houston Meals on Wheels
  • Avis Arbor Shelter for Battered Women & Children (Washington Mission)
  • New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program
  • Canonsburg Hospital Chaplaincy Program
  • Standardbred Retirement Foundation

We are so grateful to all who attended and made this auction our best ever. Thank you!
