Deo Volente, Brixton Medical and Kronos form global company DVBK International

by Bob Marks, for DVBK International

DVBK is a multi-national company headquartered in Sweden with a mission to breed elite horses eligible in both Europe and North America. The company has now been officially formed and launched as announced by Mike Gulotta and Sue Agopian of Deo Volente Farms, Bengt Agerup and Johan Arneng of Brixton Medical and Antonio Carraretto of Allevamento Kronos.

Deo Volente, with principals Mike Gulotta and Sue Agopian, has developed into one of the premier Standardbred nurseries in North America and stands 2014 Hambletonian winner Trixton, who is the leading money-winning trotting first crop stallion in 201. Considered the “apex pedigree” in the trotting world, Trixton (Muscle Hill-Emilie Cas El) has accounted for 57 starters and 33 winners from 82 foals in his first crop at the races.

Brixton Medical of Orsunsbro, Sweden, and Matawan, N.J. in conjunction with principal Bengt Agerup, have been a major force in the international trotting world owning and racing many leading trotters including Trixton.

Allevamento Kronos of Padova, Italy, and principal Antonio Carraretto, first came to international prominence when Viking Kronos (American Winner-Conch) developed into one of the best young horses ever to race in Italy. He became affectionately known as “the one that got away.” Over the last 25 years, Viking Kronos has produced top quality horses with a great number of major stakes winners around the world.

DVBK’s equine assets include broodmare Pampered Winner (Credit Winner-Pampered Princess) in foal to Muscle Hill, Orange Kronos (Yankee Glide-Dame Kronos) dam of Zephyr Kronos with a Bold Eagle weanling filly on the ground, and Unison Kronos (Donato Hanover – Zagabria Dei), sister to world champion Lisa America.

Future foals conceived by the DVBK union will be considered “dual passport” yearlings at time of sale as their stake eligibilities are dictated by the residence requirements of their high quality U.S. based stallions and the individual foaling requirements of European-based dams in their respective countries of residence.

Thus, the purchasers of yearlings conceived and sold by the DVBK union will have the unique and strategic benefit of eligibility on both sides of the Atlantic which can only enhance individual values as these horses progress through stake ranks.

“Prominent owners, Renato Bruni, Jerry Silva and Thomas Pontone have already signed on as partners, thus we are virtually oversubscribed with investors at this time; though more shares may become available as the company grows.” said Agopian.
