Dover, DE — Keg Stand stood tall and won the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 18).
Last Glow left alertly at the start of the race. Keg Stand, the 1-5 favorite, floated forward on the outside then rushed to the top after being parked to the opening quarter in :27.4.
Keg Stand marched to the half in :56.3 before Rivers sprinted at him first-over up the backstretch. Keg Stand continued confidently on the lead past three-quarters in 1:26 while Last Glow watched the action from the pocket and Platinum AS saved ground.
Keg Stand remained strong in the stretch and won by a half length in 1:54.2. Rivers finished second; Platinum AS was third.

Keg Stand, a son of Bar Hopping who paid $2.40 to win, is owned by David Hamm and EVM Racing LLC, trained by Nick DeVita, and was driven by Tony Morgan.
Hamm won four races on the card, DeVita recorded a training triple, and Tim Tetrick drove five winners.
Wednesday’s (Feb. 19) feature is the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace as Majorca N looks to win her third consecutive race. Her main competition will include last week’s winner in this class, Disturbed Hanover, and arch rival Incaseyoudidntknow. There is also a $1,406 pentafecta carryover in race 14.
