Freehold, NJ — Keystone Rodeo took command approaching the three-quarter mark and extended his lead to the finish to capture the featured $18,000 Invitational handicap for pacers at Freehold Raceway on Saturday.
Driven by Ron Pierce, Keystone Rodeo finished 12 and one-half lengths in front of his nearest rival in a sparkling 1:53.4 mile. Oliver Custis (Cat Manzi) finished second, a neck ahead of Desert Sign (Jeff Gregory), who checked in third.
Keystone Rodeo, a four-year-old son of Western Hanover owned by Let It Ride Stables and Jerry Silva, collected his seventh win of the season in 30 outings. The trainee of Brett Pelling returned $5.40 as the second choice in the wagering.
