Pompano Beach, FL — The three longest shots on the tote board came in first, second and third in the sixth race trot at Pompano Park on Friday.
Leading the way was 68-1 On Ramp, who paid $139.60, $28.80 and $9.20. Second was Double Yankee ($17.60, $6.40) at 33-1 and third was Igotmytanindaytona ($6.60) at odds of 24-1. The $2 exacta payoff of 9-2 returned $1,150.80 and the $2 trifecta combination of 9-2-1 paid $5,190.20.
Driven to victory by Walter Ross, Jr., it was the fourth win this year for On Ramp, who covered the one mile race in 1:59.4. Trained by Michelle Hallett, On Ramp is owned by Stanley Lenox and Jean West of Pompano Beach.
It was a night for longshots as Sentimental Moment, at 19-1 odds, upset the field in the fifth race pace and paid $40.80 to win. Trained and driven by Stephane Lareau, Sentimental Moment won by one and three-quarter lengths in a lifetime best clocking of 1:54.4. The Comedy Hill Racing Stable of Ft. Lauderdale own Sentimental Moment.
Then in the 12th race trot, Wolf’s Tina ($34.40) beat the odds at 16-1, leading from start to finish in 1:58.1 for driver George Napolitano, Jr. and owner/trainer Diane Hellen and co-owner Cookie English.
Buttons ‘N Bows ($21.80) at 9-1 odds added to the parade of longshots as she won the seventh race Open II Pace for driver Marc Aubin in 1:54.1.

There were no longshots in the ninth race Open Handicap Pace for fillies and mares as Hyde Park Hussie N ($5.40), the 8-5 second choice in the race, had little trouble leading from start to finish in a lifetime best 1:52.4 mile.
Driven by Joe Pavia, Jr., Hyde Park Hussie N won with ease by two open lengths. The Daily News (Bruce Ranger) was second with S F Misty (Kevin Wallis) third.
It was the second straight win and 10th victory of the year for Hyde Park Hussie N, a six-year-old New Zealand bred mare by New York Motoring, who is trained by David Deuschie for the Deuschie Racing Partners of Wellington.
