Meadows Monday Memo

Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.

NO RACING THIS WEEK
The Meadows is taking this week off for scheduled track maintenance. There will be no qualifying or pari-mutuel races, but the casino and racebook are operating as usual. Qualifying races will be held on Tuesday (April 9) at 11 a.m. Pari-mutuel racing resumes on Wednesday (April 10), which will be the first day of our Spring schedule, with four-day/week racing every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 12:45 p.m.

WORK RESUMES TODAY ON VIDEO BOARD PROJECT
In addition to maintenance of the racetrack surface itself, work resumed this morning on the replacement of the infield video board.

PALONE, BURKE LEAD THROUGH MARCH
Driver Dave Palone (91 wins) has a 10-victory lead over Ronnie Wrenn Jr. (81), with Aaron Merriman in third place (79) through the end of March.

Among trainers, Mickey Burke Jr. leads the way with 63 wins, while Brandon Presto and Dirk Simpson are tied for second with 27 each.

BLACKSMITH NEEDED
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows is in search of a part-time paddock blacksmith to help cover one-two racing days per week during the summer, and fill-in as needed. Interested parties can contact the Human Resources office at 724.503.1200.
