Trainer Noel Daley’s stable at Magical Acres in Chesterfield, NJ was the subject of a New Jersey State Police search on Wednesday, March 2. The search revealed numerous prescription label drugs that were not prescribed, hypodermic syringes and needles, along with unidentified injectable substances and suspected non-FDA approved drugs. The drugs are pending analysis at the state police laboratory. The New Jersey Racing Commission provided authorization to the State Police to conduct an administrative search of the premises, based on a TCO2 positive by the horse Night Mystery, who finished first in a race at the Meadowlands on February 25.
As a result of the search, Daley was arrested and charged with possession and use of prescription legend drugs without a prescription and also possession and control of hypodermic syringes and needles. Both are violations of New Jersey laws NJS:2C:35-10.5 and NJS:2C:36-6 respectively.
Daley has been ordered to appear in Chesterfield Township (NJ) Municipal Court on March 16.
