Noel Daley Appears In Court

Trainer Noel Daley, accompanied by his attorney, Tim Donahue of West Orange, NJ, appeared this morning in Chesterfield (NJ) Municipal Court.
Daley was arrested and charged on March 2 of this year with possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and possession of hypodermic needles and syringes. The items were in his possession in his barn at Magical Acres in Chesterfield, NJ. The items were found in a search conducted by New Jersey State Police and requested by the New Jersey Racing Commission following a high “black box” reading by a horse trained by Daley.
In today’s court hearing, Donahue requested a continuance pending completion of testing of the vials found in Daley’s possession and review of other evidence obtained in the search. Judge Bonnie L. Goldman set the next court date for May 4.

The New Jersey Racing Commission, in a ruling dated April 19, has granted an “extension of time concerning the start date of his license suspension.”

The USTA’s European correspondent, Karsten Bonsdorf, has confirmed that the invitation extended to Mr. Muscleman to compete in the Elitlopp in late May has been withdrawn.
