OhioSRC seeks adopters

from the OhioSRC

Columbus, OH — The Ohio Standardbred Retirement Connection (OhioSRC) is seeking adopters for the horses that have been placed in their program.

According to Kelly Thomas, one of the directors of OhioSRC, all of the horses have been broke to saddle.

“Some of them took right to it, some of them are going to need a little more work,” Thomas said. “Unfortunately, all of our foster homes are full right now and until we can adopt out a few of our current horses, we can’t take in any more horses. We are getting phone calls on a weekly basis from Ohio horsemen trying to place their horses and it is frustrating not being able to help them.

“No one knows better how great the Standardbred breed is than the people who are involved with them, so we are asking for their help to better allow us to help them,” Thomas said.
