Smith left with Omyheart from the four hole towards the opening quarter of :28.1 but race favorite Fire Cross (Kayne Kauffman) stayed out to shortly take the lead. Naughty Triumphant (Ronnie Wrenn, Jr.) then quickly moved to the lead going under the wire for the first time and took the field through the :56.3 half and 1:25.2 three-quarters.

At the top of the stretch, Fire Cross went to the inside to briefly take back the lead but Omyheart went deep into the passing lane to get up and win by a neck. Fire Cross was second while Naughty Triumphant finished third.

Omyheart is trained by Steve Carter for owners Jason Hanna and Mr. Kim Haver. The 3-year-old gelding is by Dontyouforgetit out of the Muscle Hill mare Peg O My Heart. Omyheart now has three wins in six starts in 2021 and just went over $63,000 in lifetime earnings. Sent off at 7-2, Omyheart paid $9.40 to win.
