Columbus, OH — The United States Trotting Association will hold its 19th annual Standardbred Driving School May 30-June 2, 2018, in Goshen, N.Y.
The school begins Wednesday evening (May 30), with a welcoming reception/dinner and special keynote speaker. Classroom and hands-on instruction will be conducted each day.
Classroom instruction will be held at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame. Topics such as horse ownership, driving strategy, veterinary care, training and conditioning and stable management will be covered by guest speakers.
Stable work will take place at the Mark Ford Training Center, where students will participate in barn duties (grooming, harnessing, hitching and jogging), Thursday through Saturday, working alongside the trainers and grooms.
This is a one of a kind opportunity for education and hands-on experience. Participants must be at least 16 years of age. There is a registration fee of $350. Students must provide their own transportation and lodging. Most meals are furnished.
