Monday (Feb. 27) was the final day of racing for the Batavia Downs winter meet with the card starting out clear and ending in a snow globe. The day’s $13,000 featured Open I trot was contested amidst the flying flakes where race winner Buzz (Mike Baumeister) overcame more than just the weather to claim victory.

The United States Harness Drivers Club (USHDC) is proud to announce a partnership with Oak Grove Racing that will see that track provide an amateur racing program during its upcoming 2023 meet, which runs from April 16 through July 2.

The first winter meet hosted by Batavia Downs in over two decades will close out its 15-date run on Monday (Feb. 27) with a nine-race card starting at 3 p.m. The early season session has produced record-breaking handles for the track, but has also placed two of its regular drivers in lofty standings nationally among their peers.

Some horses need to work out the same trip every week; Killer Instinct (Hunter Myers) proved he could race from anywhere on his way to victory in the $18,500 Open Trot on Sunday night (Feb. 26) at MGM Northfield Park.
