Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Saturday, August 4, 2012

Two of my horses were scratched last night, I lost $24. I’ve hit five Pick-4s so far this meet, the highest paying $238 for $1 and I’m down $595.80 on the meet. Today there are two Pick-4s. The late Pick-4 has the bigger guaranteed pool but I have some longshots in the first Pick-4 so I’ll go with that one.

For the championship meet I’m going to try more realistic, and more creative, tickets to see how that works out but be forewarned that even with much more of a spread, it’s still not easy to hit a Pick-4 at this track.

$1 play: 89/348/2410/128 = $54

Analysis:

Race 6: (8) Hail The Taxi is 20-1 on the morning line but just won a stakes race at Yonkers. I’m also using well bred (9) Source Of Pride and leaving the favorite out.

Race 7: Here I’ll use the favorite, (4) To Dream On, but I’m also using two others, (3) Raring To Go S and my top pick, (8) Royal Assets, who gets Tetrick for the first time.

Race 8: My top pick is (4) Aperfectyankee, who is 15-1 on the morning line but I think the colt will go off around 6-1. I’m also using two others, (2) Dewycolorintheline and (10) Fashion Blizzard, and leaving the favorite out.

Race 9: This is a very good race and consequently very tough to handicap. I’ll use three, (1) Don’t Know Chip, (2) Coco Lindy, and (8) Likeabatoutahell.
