Roland “Roly” Alfred Day, 65, dies

Salem, NH — Roland “Roly” Alfred Day, 65, of Franklin, N.H., died peacefully Sept. 3, 2019.

He was born in Exeter, N.H., on Oct. 25, 1953, to parents Lillian Crawford Day and Alfred “Bucky” Theodore Day.

He grew up in Danville, N.H., where as a child, he enjoyed playing baseball, spending time with family, helping his father take care of racehorses, and as the only boy, teasing his sisters. He was his mother’s favorite, and he knew it.

Training and caring for harness horses up and down the eastern seaboard was his profession until retirement. An outgoing and social man, with a bright Irish smile, made him a friend to many along his travels.

He is survived by his daughters, Robin Ann and Renee Alysha; grandchildren, Alysha, Tommy, Tyler, Hunter, Gionna, Makayla, Andrew, and Neveah; and sisters, Barbara, Judith, Joy, Jane, and Pamela; and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by all who loved him. Services will be held at a later date.
