Columbus, OH — World champion Scarlet Brocade p,1:49.2z ($373,669) had her first foal on April 3, 2008 at 12:30 a.m.

The filly, by The Panderosa, is bay with a star on her forehead and is very healthy.

According to her owner, Liz Gannon, “Scarlet” is being a great mother for a maiden. She was at the foaling facility at Centreville Equine on Glasgow Farms in Millington, Md., and was under the care of Dr. Judy Tubman.

Scarlet Brocade is an 11-year-old daughter of Big Towner, out of the Meadow Skipper mare Meadow Scarlet. She set her world record on November 6, 2005 at Colonial Downs for driver Franklin Milby. It is still the fastest race mile ever for an older pacing mare on a greater than one-mile track.
