Lexington, KY — On Monday (Aug. 11), the Red Mile will host a 16-race card with the spotlight on freshman filly trotters in two $80,000 divisions of the Kentucky Championship Series.
Victorianas Secret (Scott Zeron) is 9-2 on the morning line and will leave from post position four in the field of seven in the first division, which is race six.
The daughter of Tactical Landing-Victoriana is conditioned by Vernon Beachy and sports a record of 4-1-2-1 with $64,600 in the bank.
The filly was second to the talented Setyoursightshigh in the first round of this series and in the $100,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Final at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel in her last two starts, but Monday may be her time to shine.
Bred by R. Kevin Greenfield and Michael Creps, Victorianas Secret is owned by Ryan Dennison.
The filly, however, will have a contested path to the winner’s circle.
There is the royally bred Next Big Think, at 5-2 on the line from post position two with Dexter Dunn holding the reins for trainer Nancy Takter.
The daughter of Greenshoe-Iteration competes as a homebred for Courant Inc. and is 3-1-1-0 in her brief career. Her dam is a New York champion and a full sister to three-time Breeders Crown victor Gimpanzee.
Takter also sends out Leading Lady (Yannick Gingras). The daughter of Walner-Muscle Dolly was the favorite in the $225,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Final after capturing her debut in that company.
Leading Lady is owned by Black Horse Racing, Marvin Katz and Herb Livermore. The filly is 7-2 on the morning line and will begin trotting from post position three.
She was bred by Marvin and Lynn Katz as well as Al Libfeld.
The second Championship Series division is just as contentious and features the aforementioned Setyoursightshigh (Dunn) in race 10. The daughter of In Range-Special Interest drew the rail and was assigned morning line odds of 9-5.

The filly seeks her fourth consecutive victory in what will be her fifth start. She was second in her debut at Oak Grove on June 23 and was impressive in her first appearance over the red clay in the first leg of this series on July 30 with a new mark of 1:53.1. She is second behind Endurance for her record but tops the 2-year-old ranks in earnings with $175,000.
Bred by Kentuckiana Farms, Setyoursightshigh is trained by Marcus Melander. She is owned by Heights Stable, Mantorp LLC, AMG Stable Inc. and K Kjellgren Livs AB Inc.
The filly will have to best seven foes to have her picture taken for the fourth time. Godusa (David Miller), who is 2-1 on the morning line for Takter from post position seven, is one of them.
The daughter of Ready For Moni-Behold The Dream is 3-2-0-0 and enters this event on a two-race win streak after competing at Eldorado Scioto Downs. She was defeated by Setsyoursightshigh in the $150,000 Next Generation as the favorite at that facility on July 5.
Bred by Carter Duer, the filly is owned by E Five Racing and John Fielding. She has earned $52,750.
Takter is also responsible for Madam Cheval (Gingras), who is 9-2 and drew post position two.
The filly is another individual contesting these events with a terrific pedigree as she is a daughter of Walner and two-time Breeders Crown winner Shake It Cerry.
Unfortunately, Madam Cheval experienced some poor racing luck in the first round of this series and finished behind Setyoursightshigh.
Monday may be the day she rebounds to improve her record to 3-2–0-0 and adds some cash to her $3,000 bankroll.
Racing will continue through Sunday (Oct. 5), following a Sunday-through-Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsepeople can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays and 1 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the meet. Please be advised post times on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are subject to change due to the fluctuations in extreme heat and various other weather conditions across the nation.
The Red Mile will once again feature industry-low takeout on the pari-mutuel side of things while offering fans a full buffet of wagering options, including bookend daily double wagering, exacta and trifecta wagering, 20 cent superfectas, Pick-3, Pick-4, Pick-5 and Pick-6 offerings, and the Super Hi-5.
