Standardbred breedings available in Ohio

Columbus, OH — The Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of Ohio will offer top Standardbred breedings as part of its annual Tack & Stallion Service Auction in Delaware, Ohio, on Saturday, January 26.

The auction starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Coliseum, 236 Pennsylvania Avenue, in Delaware, Ohio.

New tack and horse supplies will be auctioned first, including dewormer, buckets, lead lines, pitchforks, other stable supplies, and new English and western riding tack. Consignments of used equipment and horse-related items, in good condition, are welcomed for the silent auction, which will be held in conjunction with the event. The SPHO of Ohio will accept consignments up to 1:00 p.m. on January 26. A 15 percent commission on consigned items goes to the Voices For Horses, a 501c3 horse rescue based in Toledo.

Bids for breedings to several Standardbred stallions will be accepted by phone at (740) 323-0265 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25. Final bidding on the breedings takes place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, during the live auction in the Fairgrounds Coliseum. More sales of new tack and equipment will follow the breedings.

Proceeds of the auction help fund SPHO of Ohio to fulfill their mission to promote Standardbred versatility on and off the track, including funding events such as Standardbred horse shows, trail rides and drives, the SPHO booth at Equine Affaire (Ohio), breed demonstrations at the Kentucky Horse Park, and education and retraining clinics.
